Does anyone how much money do i need to travel to Hawaii without having to sell my soul to the devil?
I’d put up $2,500 per person for a good time, This will include your airfare (approx. $380 West Coast), hotel in Waikiki, bus fare to just about anywhere, a trip to the Polynesian Cultural Center “First Class” Presidential Tour, Dinner Cruise off Honolulu and Waikiki, Pearl Harbor Tour, One day rental car to drive around the island of Oahu (which takes only about 2-1/2 hours TOTAL), Windjammer Barefoot Cruise, continental breakfast every day. Waikiki Zoo, and Aquarium too. Also dinner entertainment to see “Don Ho” (don’t go he was BAD! He had WAY too many glasses of Tiny Bubbles in the Wine!). A trip to the Hawaiian clothes store and factory. And of course yu’ll need money for souvenirs. Consider a T-shirt to put you back around $25 each, they shrink bad so buy them BIG! Perfume is nice but doesn’t last as long. Salad Bowl sets are a good idea. DON’T BUY ANY PINEAPPLES!! The ones in the store are from Hawaii you silly one! And the ones in the store are “Fresh”. Mailing pineapples “home” is a joke to the Hawaiian people and those like me that know the “truth”! Cocktails run around $8-$10 each! Its expensive to party here! The $2500 per person will also get you into a tourist “luau” one night for dinner! Don’t hesitate to try the different foods either! Hawaiian’s REALLY know how to cook/BBQ! Sunscreens a must, you are now closer to the Equator, carry a light shirt for light rain showers that last only a few minutes, and protect your shoulders from sunburn! Sunburn is guaranteed to happen no matter how “tough” you are. The above pricing and stuff to do filled one trip in a “package” for 7 days 6 nights in Waikiki. Take plenty of money-did you want to visit the “Hard Rock Cafe” in Honolulu, better figure around $35 each to eat (includes at least a $8 tip each) Like I said its expensive! Buy a T-Dhirt there is another $30+ Have fun! Figure this is a once in a lifetime trip! Then travel to see the Aztec and Maya Pyramids in Mexico, or take a cruise. Each of these run about the same amount of money per person. If you travel alone, prepare to pay an additional persons cost for hotel rooms and some other events that usually include a partner, watch for PPDO, per person double occupancy. It means higher cost to accomodate you. for traveling alone and having an extra twin bed in your room with no one in it!
